Course Detail

Duration: 3 hours

With a rapidly increasing number of AEDs being installed into workplaces and PAD (Public Access Defibrillators) becoming more common, the need for specific training is increasingly useful and highly recommended.  If you have a defibrillator on-site training is strongly recommended.

Early defibrillation, through the use of an Automated External Defibrillation (AED) is well established as the only effective therapy for cardiac arrest. Early defibrillation, even before the arrival of emergency services, is the greatest determinant in survival is cardiac arrest situations. The chances of successful defibrillation decline at a rate of 7-10% with each minute. Basic life support may help to sustain a shockable rhythm but is not a definitive treatment.

This half day (3 hour) course includes both practical and theory sessions.
